Course Description

This course will give you the skills and qualifications to become a paramedic.

The Bachelor of Paramedicine will teach you how to:

analyse situations using appropriate assessment techniques
examine patients and consider their particular needs
cope in a high-pressure environment.
As a graduate, you will be qualified to work as a paramedic with an ambulance service in Australia and in some international ambulance or health organisations. With further study, you can go on to become an:

ambulance service manager
clinical instructor
flight paramedic
intensive-care paramedic (ICP)
special operations team (SOT) rescue paramedic
specialist educator
team leader
Bachelor of Paramedicine students will undertake a minimum of 360 hours of clinical practice throughout the course within an emergency or simulated emergency environment.

Positive - The small classes for tutes and practicals are really great - plenty of feedback and time with instructors. The course has extensive practical work which is really useful.

The course is very hands on and practical which I enjoy.
The core subjects at ACU were boring but it helps you become a better human being.

My advice to future students - Go to all your classes and use your practical classes to refine your clinical skills.

Positives are the teachers, very well experience, facilities are beautiful and all the students were amazing and helpful

Negative would be placements were only 1-3 days instead of a a week or two however they have changed it since last year
