Course Description

Box Hill Institute has run music programs since 1981. Our reputation for excellence in contemporary music is demonstrated by the success of our alumni in the music industry, some of whom are Triple J unearthed winners, and have won ARIA awards. Others have performed with artists such as Ed Sheeran, The Living End, Passenger, Goyte, Missy Higgins, Gossling, Guy Sebastian, Dan Sultan, Kate Ceberano, Washington, and Ian Moss.

This course empowers you to apply transferable skills across a broad range of genres such as Rock, Pop, Jazz, Soul, Blues, and World music. You will explore both the practical and theoretical side of music. You will receive three years of individual instrumental lessons, and also undertake Music Production and Music Business training.

Choose from a wide range of composition, audio production, teaching, and performance electives; or take advantage of opportunities to perform in other ensembles and choirs. You will have access to state-of-the-art computer labs, recording studio facilities, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with other composition, audio and business students.
