I studied via distance education and I found the lecturers were very attentive and helpful, and I genuinely enjoyed the content.
It has been positive in that it has taught me skills relating to targeting different audiences and niche markets, and I found the course very interesting.
I found the lecturers were knowledgeable and the course was well structured. However, I feel that the course is not very applicable or practically oriented.
The theory is important and delivered well, however the course did not teach me the reality of managing a business.
Pros - great lecturers and hands on experience
Cons - work experience in the area
The course structure consists of a core of ten subjects, a major of eight subjects and 6 elective subjects.
Core subjects covers principals fundamentals to the IT discipline including programming principles, databases, data communications, systems analysis and design, project management, IT ethics and information security.
We had to choose one specific major subject and in the final year we complete a project which involves investigation, design and implementation of a substantial computer application to solve a real world problem relevant to our chosen major.
