Course Description

This course is multidisciplinary and designed for health professionals seeking to develop their skills and knowledge in public health. Whether you already work in public health or want to move into this field, our course can prepare you for contemporary public health practice that addresses traditional and emerging public health issues that threaten to negatively impact communities and the environment.

You will gain a thorough grounding in the major areas of public health and also have the opportunity to specialise in your area of interest.

This course builds on the Graduate Certificate and the Graduate Diploma to prepare you to enter the field of public health, or to expand on your expertise in this area. In your second year you will choose one of the following streams to specialise in:
Applied Epidemiology and Biostatistics
Health Promotion
Health Policy and Management.

You will also have the opportunity to carry out research under the guidance of an academic supervisor.

Our Master of Public Health students come from a variety of fields including medicine, nursing, psychology, physiotherapy, pharmacy, dentistry, biomedical and laboratory-based sciences, nutrition, occupational therapy, occupational health, environmental health, health promotion, and statistics and management.
