Positives: I love it because i really enjoy the content and it is very interesting
My advice to future students is: Keep up with work and join in on class activities because they help you learn
Positives: Meeting new people is amazing. Property side of my course is a 10/10 as I love the lecturers and tutors that teach this course and they give it their all. I love meeting people from everywhere at uni and they provide networking functions that I love.
Negatives: Commerce tutors don’t really help you and when you struggle, I find it hard to find support. They have help sessions that I unfortunately can not attend which makes it harder for me.
My advice to future students is: Make sure that you go to lectures and seminars, otherwise it is extremely easy to fail - I have done this and regret it! And don’t be shy to go up to people and say hi to them.
Positives: It help me to have strong foundation and understanding of what we need to learn to be an accountant
Negatives: It didnt give enough or encourage student to apply and get internship so by the time they graduate we dont have connection and experience
My advice to future students is: To get an internship in between their study which will help them to get job in future
Positives: lectures are there to help when in need and reply to emails pretty fast
the unit being taught are clearly taught and stated at the unit outline
Negatives: - None
My advice to future students is: enrol to the subjects you think you are interested at and enjoy it.
Positives: The course is taught by professional OTs who offer real experience. Also the facilities (OT lab) is amazing! We are also taught how to make 9 different splints for hand therapy which I believe is ahead of most other unis.
Our course is also well thought out, in terms of complexity vs time spent at uni (I.e we were eased into it). Also our placements are done over the course of 4 years instead of having 1000 hours of placement squished into the final two years.
Negatives: As our lecturers are professionals they are mostly part time and will make assignments due at the start of their working week. So there’s no last minute questions because they are out of office.
Due to the layout of the course you do a few “intensive” modules whereby normal content is taught over 5 weeks and it is very full on!!
My advice to future students is: Start every thing early - don’t leave it until the last minute!
Positives: Really good preparation for teaching practice. Expert teachers who currently practice running tutorials for specific subjects
Negatives: Course was a little too theory-heavy and could have provided more practical development opportunities
My advice to future students is: A good degree to pair with another degree. Majoring in a subject which you can then teach.
Positives: Good variety of subjects to choose from and ability to major in subjects which combine with other degrees.
Negatives: Individual teaching staff were unprofessional at times and difficult to get a job with just this degree.
My advice to future students is: Course plan well so that you are able to gain entry to the workforce with your chosen majors
Positives: Assessments that allow you to use critical thinking.
Negatives: Sometimes lecturers can be vague
My advice to future students is: Manage your time wisely
Be creative and experiment various teaching and learning styles/methods
Positives: This course provides authentic teaching experience for you to be on-site and learn the arts of teaching. It is great for your future employment by getting real working experience in placement. Your cohorts are from different nationalities and you could share thoughts and ideas about early child hood education. The units are flexible according to your time as some units you could study online and some are campus based. Lecturers are open-minded and they were all experienced EC experts.
Negatives: Some units of this course have no much benefits for the future work field.
My advice to future students is: Get the best placement sites as it could affect your future job huntings. Make as many friends as possible for networking purposes.
Positives: There are many opportunities to reach other students whether this is for advice or for content and studying purposes due to a very large cohort. Many practical skill sessions are conducted to students which are great in aid of the theory study.
Negatives: I found the content of the course extremely broad and not relevant to real work situations.
My advice to future students is: I found the content of the course extremely broad and not relevant to real work situations.
