Course Description

This course provides comprehensive training for bricklaying students and covers all practical and theoretical aspects of the trade.

Bricks are one of the most popular and durable building materials. A bricklayer joins bricks or blocks (large bricks) using mortar, which is usually a mixture of cement, lime and sand. Much of a bricklayer's work is straightforward, but often requires skill and judgement. You must understand working drawings of buildings and be able to apply basic mathematics.

Bricklayers also do more complicated work, such as constructing arches and building fireplaces. These jobs require training, ability and experience.

Some of the benefits of being a bricklayer include that you can work anywhere, you will usually work outdoors, and the role is in demand.

While studying bricklaying and blocklaying at Holmesglen, you will receive hands on training from industry experienced teachers. You will train in excellent training facilities, acknowledged as the best in Victoria, and gain practical experience on full scale projects.

You may also benefit from flexible delivery, which includes a negotiated blend of on-site and off-site training and assessment, determined by the needs of the employer and your abilities as the apprentice.

There wasn't any home work :) which made it pretty cruisy.

My advice to future students is: Don’t fail :)
