Course Description

With manyAustralians living longer than ever before, and an increase in conditions suchas diabetes and obesity, it's clear there's a growing need for health andfitness services.

Personal trainers work in a varietyof settings and are largely responsible for the development, implementation andsupervision of exercise programs with individual clients or small groups.

During this course you will learn how to tailor personal trainingprograms for a range of clients, including older adults. You'll learn theimportance of nutrition, and how to manage injuries and specific medicalconditions.

The coursewill teach you how to use a diverse range of personal training equipment,operate in different environments, and design programs for one-on-one, group and functional training. It also covers the fundamentals of marketing and operating a smallfitness business successfully.

This course reflects the role of personaltrainers who have specialist skills to train individual clients, or groups ofclients and to improve health-related componentsof fitness in relatively low risk situations. This may include training ofolder clients and children.

After successful completion of this course, you may wish to broaden your career opportunities and pathway directly into the SIS50612 Diploma of Sport Development.
