Course Description

This course is your pathway to further studies in education and teaching. Students who do well in first year can apply to transfer into one of our undergraduate teaching courses in second year, including our Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Teaching. You can also choose to complete three years of study and then progress to one of our Graduate Entry Teaching programs.

You'll develop fundamental critical thinking skills as well as knowledge in contemporary education theory and key concepts of student development. You'll also establish critical capabilities in literacy and numeracy.

From first semester, you'll have the freedom to choose from a wide range of elective subjects, allowing you to find your own areas of interest. If you want to pursue a teaching career by doing a postgraduate teaching course, you may need to take a certain number of discipline subjects across second and third years.
