Complete this apprenticeship qualification with TAFE Queensland to become a qualified wall and floor tiler. As the construction industry becomes more specialised, tilers are in greater demand. It is expected there will be up to 25,000 job openings for wall and floor tilers in the next five years.
In this course you will learn how to lay ceramic, clay, slate, marble, glass and other types of tiles on external and internal walls and floors. You'll use tiles to create protective and decorative finishes and learn how to use tile-cutting tools to cut and shape tiles needed for edges, corners, or around obstacles such as fittings and pipes. You may complete new installations or renovation work on interior or exterior surfaces of houses, shops, offices, factories as well as structures such as swimming pools and spas. Our industry-qualified teachers will ensure you can undertake tiling tasks in a safe and effective manner.
Successful completion of this qualification as part of an apprenticeship allows you to become a qualified wall and floor tiler and recognised tradesperson.
