Positives: 1) the course tutors and teachers have a lot of industry experience
2) the practicals were good for hands on experience
3) the online components allow for flexible study
Negatives: 1) campus was a bit outdated (old lab facilities)
2) parking is difficult at busy times
My advice to future students is: Research the ability to obtain a job using your chosen degree. Very difficult in this certain industry
Positives: Practical experience
Negatives: Financial out of pocket costs
My advice to future students is: Save money, be open minded,
Positives: The course was hands on with lots of field trips, experiments and conducting research and writing reports on our own work. It prepared you for what a career in the field would be like.
Negatives: Group work was sometimes difficult with not everyone pulling their weight. Small class sizes meant this was sometimes unavoidable.
My advice to future students is: Ask as many questions as you can, get involved with the courses and the professors and tutors to gain as much knowledge and experience as you can.
Positives: The most positive aspect of the course was the mandatory internship which had to be undertaken in the final year of study. The practical 'on the job' experience gained from this resulted in a job offer straight out of uni. Also there was a lot of free time between classes 😀
Negatives: The first semester was tough. The professors were hard markets which was a shock straight out of college.
My advice to future students is: Don't assume that graduating this course will result in a swanky PR job. You have to be willing to put in the hard yards to reap the rewards.
Positives: I enjoyed the positive interaction with peers and like minded thinkers. The structure of tutorials and lessons were great and the overall variety of material. I also enjoyed the campus.
Negatives: Not so much a negative but I would say to update the courses more regularly and keep them agile so they are keeping up with the tech world especially the business and IT Courses. With more relevant lessons and case studies to apply to real modern world situations.
My advice to future students is: Learn as much as you can and draw inspiration from as many areas as you can to get to where you want to be in life, business and career.
Positives: The course provides 4 various placements and encourages students to go above and beyond in those placements in order for students to get a permanent position after graduation. The course also offers the opportunity to do many specific education international courses
Negatives: The course has poor administration and will often change resulting in confusion for students
My advice to future students is: Make sure to check the course outline and ensure that you speak with administration via email so you have a record
Positives: It is a small cohort so more 1 on 1 time
Negatives: Negative aspects include unorganised teachers and course criteria at times, understaffed at times it seems and sometimes limited resources
My advice to future students is: If you would like a close-knit, more personalised experience then this is a great course to go for.
Positives: About getting to know the course for future career and also meeting new friends
Negatives: Just the difficulty
My advice to future students is: If you enjoy it, make the most of it.
Positives: The access to world class facilities such as alienware computers and motion capture studios. As well as game rooms and interactive nights to showcase your work
Negatives: Working with other students can sometimes be difficult. Not many of them are very social so its hard to get something across to them. Other than that its great
My advice to future students is: Stick to it and never stop. Because great things take time, and in this type of work everything takes alot of time
Positives: They have some great teachers who make learning engaging, the class work is different and interesting and fun
Negatives: Having to do unrelated units such as economics where they make it hard to be relatable when you are grouped in with specific economics students. Lectures can be unrelevent and boring
My advice to future students is: Only do it if you are 100% commited and are willing to do it. Maybe take a gap year
