Course Description

This hands-on degree is focused on providing you with the conceptual, theoretical and technical skills you need to succeed as a practising artist or in a range of careers in the creative industries.

It offers a wide range of electives in contemporary art and a number of studio specialisations. You will be encouraged to work across disciplinary boundaries to realise your ideas, and you"ll gain a thorough grounding in the skills and history of your chosen specialisation.

You will be taught by practising artists, writers, and curators, and benefit from their extensive professional experience and arts industry networks. A strong theory and history component hones your research and critical skills so you can develop your creative projects to their full potential. Your studies will be supported by technical facilities, workshops and digital laboratories.

You can study the Bachelor of Visual Arts as a three-year full-time course or a six-year part-time course. Our flexible course structure allows you to build a course in contemporary art that is adapted to your personal strengths and aspirations.
