Positives: I really like how the tutors are laid back. You get to know them and you don't feel like another number. They have a lot of experience in social work. They tutors tell me about their experiences (which makes me learn from their mistakes). It's also very practical and hands on. Majority of my learning is from interviewing and gaining hands on experience through simulation labs and receiving feedback from my tutors.

Negatives: I don't like how some of my classes are meant to go for an 3 hours and it only runs for 1 hour (as the tutor thinks we covered everything)

My advice to future students is: I would say it's a great campus. However before you study social work make sure you know what your actually studying. There have been a large amount of drop out rates.

Positives: Provided me with the knowledge and skills to assist people in their recovery

Negatives: The spiral learning model meant that many subjects were missed or were glossed over

My advice to future students is: Do thorough research into the course you want to do at a number of universities to find the best for

Positives: They have given me the opportunity to do placement with a great organisation

Negatives: They are unorganised, enthusiastic about teach and don’t care about the students that need help.

My advice to future students is: If they have an issue with their degree outline, seek advice immediately and if they tell you that you shouldn’t do something, they aren’t always right.

Positives: That it is available so close by and I didn’t have to leave home or move away/out.

Negatives: Lack of communication, teachers not showing up, lack of scholarships for EVERYONE (not just ATSIP, single mums, people on centerlink)

My advice to future students is: Chose a different university if you’re willing to move away.

Positive really great class sizes and good teachers.
Negatives poor communication on specific detail regarding placements and leaves students in the dark a bit

My advice to future students is: It may seem confusing at first but give it a chance
