Course Description

If you want the option of teaching at primary or secondary level, VU's Bachelor of Education (P-12) gives you the flexibility you need.

We are one of the few universities in Australia to offer a teaching degree that prepares you to work at any school level. If you’re unsure which age group you’ll be suited to teaching, this is an excellent way to keep your options open.

You'll graduate from our education course with a clear understanding of the latest techniques to support students in their learning. You’ll also be work-ready, with 80 days of supervised teaching practice in primary and secondary schools, and an extended placement in your fourth year.

Pros:
excellent placement allocations
Very informative of course structure from the first year

Cons:
Classes are far apart from placement dates
Location of the classes are geographically far, makes it easier to miss classes

Positive - I found the curriculum to be really solid.
The negatives - I found the teachers were poor and could have helped facilitate better understanding of the material for the students.

Lots of placement, it’s prep to 12 which is good and the assessments are pretty good.

The uni are very disorganised, don’t respond to emails or questions

My advice to future students is: Get your subject selections for the 4 years sorted before you start so you don’t have any troubles
